Data Dashboard

Options
Hi,

I wondered if someone can help me?

I need to create a data dashboard using bar charts, pie charts, line charts. It's for a paper i am trying to write.

I can do this in excel but it looks a bit naff.

Is there a free (easy!) program i can use? I've tried using google data but its not very user friendly for an old bird like me!

Many thanks
M x

In what way does it 'look a bit naff' ?
What are you wanting to add that can't be done in Excel ?

Microsoft PowerBI would be the most obvious choice which has a free option... really depends on what the data source you are trying to visualise is etc though

Excel can do most things given enough effort even if the default charts are rather ugly.

There are powerful business charting applications such as PowerBI, Spotfire and Tableau but unless you have a huge amount of data to analyse they are probably overkill for a paper.

    Some web based charting tools

  • It's for a marketing paper, I have just 4 charts that I need to show on a metric dashboard.

The problem I have with excel is that the charts become unreadable when I transfer it over onto my paper (A4 normal margins, horizontal)

I'll have a look at the Microsoft Power I and canva and see if I can figure it out. Many thanks

Are you saving them as images before then bringing them into your paper or copying and pasting them straight from excel.

If you have done one try the other
