Thanks again, Facade and whoareyou? There is a key on mine, but it actually just locks the battery in place - stops it being pinched. Not sure if it has an electrical connection too - that'll be part of my investigation.I just plugged a wee rechargeable radio into the USB, and nothing happened, so not sure if it's a defunct port, or a different standard, or it even needs turning on somehow.I'll investigate the 'press' display bit. Thanks, fmn - yes, I understand the 'load' bit, and I'll soon find out if it's ok... It has been refurb'd, tho', so I'm pretty confident it's ok.Under that residual tape glue was:Looks like hot glue! What the?!0

On mine, the key has 3 positions1) Unlocked & off - the little bolt is withdrawn so the battery can lift up & unhook.2) locked & off - the little bolt sticks out and you can't lift the battery up.3) locked & on - the bolt sticks out and the power is connected via the main fuse (30A I think). The charge port is connected off or on, and has it's own fuse that blows if you poke the key in the charge port by mistake, so the 'bike works but the charger lights don't come on and panic sets in....No idea about the glue it might just be filling up an access port that isn't being used.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Unscrewed end cap - no switch or LED or PCB... That's why it was glued - to fill the hole!Ach, well. It still works - outputs 42V out t'other end.0
