Future for my Daughter

I share my rented home with my daughter who is 27 and disabled, with both physical disability and also learning disability and Mental Health problems. She receives LCWRA UC. If something happens to me, and she has to claim for the rent (I am employed atm so there is no benefit claim for rent), she would get the Local housing allowance of £500 but the rent on this house is £900. I appreciate that she would have to look to move in time, but in the interim, would her brothers be able to top up her rent for her, or would that have an effect on her benefits? Her brothers have said that they would be happy to help out until she could move into a smaller house. (this is only a small terraced but is classed as 3 bedrooms and she would only get the UC Housing element for 1 bedroom). I am not planning on going anywhere but you never know what's round the corner and I worry so much for her future. Thank you.

It wouldn't be a problem. As long as the help is towards the rent (for example, paying the difference between what is given in benefit as housing costs and the actual amount of rent), to make up the difference then that is fine.

Is she currently on the tenancy agreement? If not then you may need to look at what happens to the house, rather than what happens to the rent.
Is the property privately rented or local authority/housing association controlled housing - this is the difference between having the rent paid in full (minus bedroom tax) and getting the LA allowance (I get that the wrong way round so sorry if it is, someone will correct me)Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.

If her brothers were to gift her money on a regular basis, it wouldn't affect any of her benefits.
It won't create a tax problem for her brothers, providing they can afford to do this - each brother can give away £3000 a year without it creating any inheritance tax problems, but what they give to their sister they cannot also give to someone else who might need it. Are they in a position to give this money and are they happy to do so? Their wives/partners/children might resent this if it went on for too long as it is making their family poorer.
Your daughter is likely to need time to greive if you die, but after a year, and with the support of her brothers she should be able to plan to move to a one bedroom property. It would be as well to talk to her about what might need to happen and when, if anything does happen to you. Hopefully you will be around for many years, worrying and taking care of your daughter, but as you say, you don't know what might be just around the corner, so it is better to have had the conversation a few times before it becomes important. She will appreciate that there is a plan for her.

I know this isn't what you asked but I thought it might help if you were in the position to leave inheritance https://www.mencap.org.uk/advice-and-support/wills-and-trusts-service?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD-szlhsuvq6vnjdlB7lj-h2Ao_3a&gclid=Cj0KCQjwjNS3BhChARIsAOxBM6q0Auf8DR0SXhRp-Rx-aI5Q7OVdjmL5fxZPOqb6lz7bScOhaY_M6dIaAr-QEALw_wcB&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=1766811505&utm_term=mencap%20wills%20and%20trusts0
