Update - thank you for link and I used the BCIS Rebuild Calculator.

    1. I managed to get the Claim Section - removed to NO ENTRY listed. I phoned John Lewis and after several calls, etc, etc and asking them to look a their files, which I gave reference to, and incompetence which resulted no NO CLAIM being made. They tried to be helpful and it was a success. So I could move forward.
    2. Quote from NFU - was so high - in fact very high! More than double and more - I appreciate you get what you pay for but ….. easier now when 'No Claims' listed when answering questions.
    3. Back to John Lewis and upped rebuild to much higher. (It is such a shame they changed underwriter as it was all so much easier.)

Bottom line cottage now insured for more than what it would sell for on open market. Still lots of small print to read - but - it is done. And!!! Next year I have agreed with NFU to phone me before next renewal.

So happy to read you are sorted out, GillyFlower. (EXCELLENT news about the claim, too!)

May I ask…. did you still get offered one of the John Lewis Polices of Bronze, Silver and Gold?

On the Silver and Gold the rebuild cost is shown as unlimited on their new Polices.

So I am still not clear why you have had to give them a Rebuild Cost, if you are on a Silver or Gold.

Do you think they will be asking this of everyone, now, even if we are on the Silver or Gold?
