Arnold Clark damaged my car and now ignoring me

Hi all,

I put my car into Arnold Clark for an MOT about 3 weeks ago - not my ideal choice but I have the VW cover and Arnold Clark are the only Volkswagen garage in Glasgow and surrounding area that are approved - they seem to have much of a monopoly up here in Scotland. 

When I collected my car i noticed a small dent immediately on the rear. I told the person who gave me the keys and she got the service manager. He checked the papers and said the technician hadn’t marked it as damage before carrying out the MOT(it definitely wasn’t there before anyway) and said they would sort it and he would call me the next day - the call never came. 

I have phoned numerous times and told the manager isn’t available and they’ll take my number etc and call me back but no call ever comes - Arnold Clark have a reputation for awful customer service and I am experiencing it! The dent itself is not huge it’s a small dent where I reckon the car has been reversed into something (link to pic below) but I want them to repair it or pay for it to be repaired elsewhere - something like this has never happened to me, what is the likelihood I will get them to do such a thing?

Try sending them a letter before action for small claims.

Likelihood is pretty high, I would say. If you have home insurance, check to see if you have legal expenses cover. If you do, call the legal helpline provided by your insurer before sending a letter before action.

Their nor returning your calls. Going and see them state your there to book the work in
