Another UC migration question

Options
We're in the process of migrating from esa support group to UC. Both claim pip. Husband has no need to send fit notes in but it's asking for me to send one in after 7 days. Is this correct  does anyone know?

Thanks

No need to provide fit notes. Once support group (LCWRA) added to UC claim by the UC service centre there should not be any other messages about fit notes.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

It depends who is the main claimant for the ESA. If it was in your husband's name and you yourself have never been assessed for work capability then you will need to hand in sick notes. PIP will not give you LCWRA.
  • So I'll have to have a WCA then?

If you have never had an ESA claim yourself but were on your partners claim then yes you will need a WCA otherwise how would they know you qualify for support group? Lots of people claiming PIP can and do work so it's no indication that you cannot work.
  • Yes I was on my husbands esa claim. I'll get on to the drs asap

If you were to be awarded LCWRA, you can't both be paid that element on a Uc claim, although you can still be found to have LCWRA. If your husband has PIP daily living and you provide 35 hours of care for him a week then you can declare yourself his carer on your Uc claim which will mean you have no work commitments and would get the carer element added. This would stop you being called in to any work coach appointments whilst you wait for your WCA.
