Boiler Juice rip off

I ordered 350l of oil from Boiler Juice. What I didn’t realise until after the delivery, which hadn’t been confirmed by a receipt from the delivery guy was that I had been charged 120 pence per litre, ppl.
I contacted Boiler Juice by phone and they gave me an indicative price of 60ppl, half the price I paid. Following up from my Trustpilot comment they said that the higher price was below their minimum order of 500 litres.
There was no warning when the order was placed to say, “do you wish to continue, etc”.
Are the company justified in charging what they like below minimum quantity orders?

Indicative prices are often lower than you pay.  Even if you were ordering chairs from a suppliers, you might need to order say 10 chairs to get the lower price.
What was the price when you got a quote for 350l ?

  • It's much more expensive ordering 350 with a standard delivery. (500l standard delivery is 54.44)

  • Interesting as I ordered standard delivery which was still a September delivery. Must admit I didn’t check the ppl at the time but will be more careful in future. Thanks for the screenshot btw. It doesn’t make sense to get a cheaper price for a faster delivery and seems like BJ ignored this as the oil company were attempting to deliver next day anyway.
Still feel it’s a rip off tho!

As BJ is just a middleman a reason could be is the "Express" & "Standard" are different suppliers A&B. B doesn't want to deliver a small quantity so sets a very high price to stop people ordering.
I expect you put in 500l when getting a quote (otherwise you would have seen the high price) and the cheapest was company B, but then they charged you the going rate for 350.
It is gutting as it's a costly error.
