Waiting times for District Valuer to make contact

Hi,
I was granted probate for my father's estate in July 24. I was told earlier that HMRC had referred it to the DV in April with an approx. contact time of the beginning of August 24.
We have a small farm and have gone for 100% agricultural relief on the advice of my solicitor and my valuer. There is some land that "may" be deemed to have significant hope value (no planning grants at the time of death and future development years in advance). I am getting 4 different views from land agent / accountant / my valuer / solicitors, all ranging from "don't worry you're ok" to "you're absolutely screwed and you may need to sell your home and your farm.
I've been told by the solicitor to sit and wait but it is making myself and my family physically and mentally ill.
Is there anything I can do? The solicitor says not.
How long does it take? Can I not find out what the problem is now?
Thanks.

Where land is involved, it can take some time for the DV to reach is decision. Sorry but no point in worrying and if you disagree with DV's value you (or your agent) can negotiate. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1
