HSBC regular saver

I am trying to setup this regular saver so that the standing order is taken on or about 1st of the month to coincide with the receipt of my company pension.
Any advice on when I should apply for the regular saver? Sat 28, Sun 29, or Mon 30.

On the 1st of the month.
Opening the regular saver online now appears to be immediate1 -
All the banks are different - I set up one last week, it said "up to three days" and it took 24 hours0

HSBC and FD now appear to be immediate going by last two recent applications0
