Hello,
If a single mother who currently receives Universal credit goes on to buy a house and someone else goes on the mortgage (say a parent) but doesn't live at the property is their household still income based on the single mother?
Many thanks.

Yes, it's based on who lives at the property.jamescooper244 said:Hello,

But the single mother will get no help towards the mortgage, so no housing element of UC.
The other person will also need to declare it if they are claiming means tested benefits as they part own a property they dont live in.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.
