Hi all,
Been browsing through the forums today and what a great forum this is! Ive been missing out.
Problem at hand...
I fueled up at a local petrol station about a year ago, have the payment in my statement as i paid by card. I then parked at the side of the forecourt (it was not busy) and nipped to the shop next door. They have me on cctv for this. I was gone for about 4-5mins. I was unaware about the cameras as it was new at the time and they hide the signs as you well know. Anyway fast foward to now, didnt hear anything at first and then only received a final notice which i appealed....refused. Petrol station attendent not intrested. Recived a solicitor letter july 24 wanting £160 which i appealed as i purchased fuel....they refused. Now today an email stating it still stands as i went off site and parking it for customers on site only, they have clear cctv footage. I havnt replied to the solicitor yet as this seems extortionate! Any help would be appreciated, and what is the likely outcome? Do i need to get my hand in my pocket?
Many thanks

Have you received a notice of claim form court - or MCOL?
Have you actually had the invoice or just the follow up letters - the later may indicate you have not got an up-to-date address on your V5

Do you have a County Court Claim form? If so, what is the date of issue? Which solicitors? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Hi guys,
Thanks for the quick responses
Its gladstone solicitors.
They are just demanding £160 to be paid to them,
No court or anything yet - it was via email
Email stated;
'Your comments are noted however, parking at this site is for customers and visitors of the site whilst remaining on the premises only. As per the photographic evidence you are seen parking and leaving the site which breaches the terms and conditions.
Our client remains satisfied this charge was issued correctly and we invite you to make a payment of the outstanding balance, in full within 7 days of this email'
Then goes on to payment options to the solicitor and the usual legal proceeding etc
Thanks again0 -
just follow ups, they got the address from the v5 which is in my name0

Lovely. So send the reply to LBC in the NEWBIES thread. Nothing is new here.
Please don't copy & paste the recommended LBC response here. We don't need to see it. Gladstones are nothing.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
