Hi
I keep getting e-mails in my junk mail folder of my email account from various bank accounts saying that my online account will expire. I'm worried my details are being used fraudulantly.
Does anyone have advice?

I receive quite a few from banks I don't even belong to! I just tend to ignore: I don't even bother opening up the email itself; I look at the title and just ignore...it's a bloody nuisance I know.BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

Is it worth opening a new email account?0 -
Hi
This is nothing unusual, it's known as a "phishing scam". Basically the scammers are hoping that you will click on the link in the email and go to their page, which usually looks just like that of the bank the email claims to be from, and put in your actual bank details, they therefore get your genuine bank details which they can then use for dodgy purposes.
Just delete them, and if you do use internet banking always, always go straight through their URL ie www.lloydstsb.com

It's spam, pure and simple. DON'T EVER click on a link in one of these emails. At the very least it will ensure you get mountains more spam.

Is it worth opening a new email account?
No.
Just ignore them, I have twenty four email accounts (24) and last week alone I received ninety eight (98) so say critical emails from banks telling me to log into my account.
Except 97 of them were from banks that I have no dealings with.

Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
