Took me 3 weeks to get the simple saver open and accessible.Following the online application they were supposed to post out 2 security code letters within a week. When after 7 days had gone and nothing had been received, I rang up and they said wait longer. When after 10 days neither letter had still not arrived, I rang up, and they couldn't explain why this was, they just said they weren't sent out through normal mail. They reset the system and sent out the letters again. They told me it might be another week before the new security letters would arrive. The new security code letters eventually arrived, the previous ones that were cancelled arrived just before that but were no longer usable. Was at least then able to access the account.I came, I saw, I melted0

I must have got really lucky. Already had the sunny day account, but like others had to apply as a new customer from the link.Filled it all in with no problems. Despite the ‘we’ll send your pass code etc’ the account was linked to my account showing in my online banking in about 15 mins and I was able to make my £1 deposit.1

For me, the delay is annoying because Kent Reliance have recently dropped their easy access interest rate from 5.11% to a paltry 4.36%.I need to move the cash into a higher paying account asap.0

I just called Cahoot. Apparently I entered the date of birth incorrectly when I applied for the Simple Saver account yesterday. My eyesight and typing are not what they used to be.I have no choice but to wait for the ID forms I sent through the post to be processed.3

I had a similar experience to the OP, although I did not bother to send the Change of Details form or ID. I was an existing customer so I sent a secure message online asking for the new account to be linked and when I logged in 24 hours later, I could see my new account.

I recently opened one as a new customer to Cahoot. It couldn't have been simpler! Filled out online application, account opened instantly. I transferred money to it straight away. Waited a few days for the two letters to arrive with security codes to log in online. Job done.1

They said wait just a little longer as some people were starting to get them and mine ended up arriving in that day's post.2 -
They should rename this the "Cahoot inconvenience account". i applied a week ago still haven't received anything through the post. This should be a good indicator of what this bank is going to be like in the future to deal with .If nothing arrives in the post today there are plenty of other decent savings banks , that are far easier and quicker to open an account.
