Just been accepted for both shops but after having logged in, there appears not to be any vacant shops to do the questionnaire.

    Bit dissappointed.

I was on the Wilkinson's website and they are looking for mystery shoppers If your accepted then you will get paid £10 cash for each survey you complete about various stores including Wilkinson. I've completed my details and keeping my fingers crossed.

Please remember to declare these earnings, Inland Revenue, these companies submit your details to them at the end of each tax year, so make sure you get mileage expenses, printing costs etc.

I wouldn't bother with Gapbuster as their pay is poor and they aren't regular with payments. Also if you forget details, they call you and demand extra information.

I am a mystery shopper for both Retail Eyes and DQM (https://www.dqm-web.com) and after 12 months I am about £400, better off. Of course I declare everything that I earn to the tax-man, but don't forget that the following :-
    1) you are entitled to claim 40 pence per mile for the first 10,000 miles that you do on company business, tax free even if you don't get travelling expenses. This means that if you drive 5 miles to the shops you are entitled to £2.00 of your earnings tax free.
    2) If you have to pay parking or toll expenses claim that back (keep the tickets).
    3) If you don't drive, keep the tickets from your bus and train fares and claim them back.
These are all legititimate expenses incurred on company business and hence you don't have to pay tax.

Here is an example of how you can use the system to its best effect.
I have to drive 15 miles to a pub. I am allowed as a mystery shoppper £20 max to spend and I spend £18.00 on a meal. The company pay me £5 for the shop and £18.00 expenses for the meal

    Total Pay = £5 + £18.00 = £23.00
    Total Tax Free = 15 X £0.40 (£6) + £18.00 = £24.00
Hence the Tax Man owes me £1 tax free for next time.

Due to this extra work I do I keep a spreadsheet with the jobs, the mileage incurred and any extra expenses and make sure the tax man gets the least amount of money from me. If you work it right you avoid (legal) paying tax on most of the money and don't get done for evasion (illegal).

Thanks for letting us all get some of your future earnings :)
    Really appreciate

Goodness me - I have done mystery shopping for a long time and could never do a couple of jobs a week to make ends meet (they average £10 pay a job?).

I think not everyone posting is telling the truth.

    I have worked for...

    cinecheck
    TNS
    NOP
    emystery/digitalshopper
    retaileyes
    etc...

However, I have combined this with promotional work - which is very well paid. I only do jobs paying me £80 now for a few (typically 6 hours) work. I started off networking like crazy to get my contacts list.

There are a few which do this full time - but I think it is a minority. It is hard work and some companies do not like to pay up.

I have compiled lists of reputable companies which do and have paid me. I don't know whether it's OK to post this here or on the referrers board (so feel free to move it)

***Edited, this would need to be posted on refferers - MSE Controller2***

There are also modelling and extra's agencies. I found work with one when I was 6 months pregnant! At £35 per hour... so you don't need to be slim and gorgeous. There are plenty of hand models/ugly models too.

It is hard work but it can be fun and rewarding. I now know my local cinema manager on first name terms and can get free tickets to anything!

Also being paid £35 for 20 minutes work by N20 to check an advert appears before a film is easy peasy!!!

As with the nature of the board, if anyone wants further information, I'm happy to share it for free.
Here I go again on my own....
