Barclaycard vs Linkfinancial

Hello and thank everyone for support.
I got credit notice from Link Financial about debt with Barclaycard. Probably card was stolen. I already opened Action Fraud case but i want to try speed up things little bit.
I'm trying to contact both of them, but that seems slow.
Is there some consulting service or maybe lawyer, who can take my case and help me?

So are you saying that you had a barclaycard, the number they are quoting matches, but you never used the card?

It sounds odd that you say the card was probably stolen.

Surely if that was the case you would have notified Barclaycard at the time and they would have blocked the card and issued you with a new one.

If Link are involved all this would have happened many years ago as they buy defaulted debts at a big discount and find someone to chase.

    Are you sure it's yours?

You will need to clarify a few points here, as Link buy old debts.

You don`t need any of that, you just need to explain in more detail, to us, in this thread, what has happened.

  • I had typical debit card from Barclays. Not credit, i had maybe 100-200 pounds there for spending. Then in 2019 i moved from that place where i lived (i moved from UK to other country). Later this year i found in my credit rating that i have open account with Link Financial. After talking with Experian i got info that account was opened on December 2019 (when i was already not in country) and fully in debt since 2020 (when i was also not in UK and not by this address). I'm not sure how that was happened, but probably somebody ordered new card and used it. I opened Action Fraud case about that.
But im also need help with somebody on place. How can call, get more details, maybe statement from that card to prove that i wasnt there that times. Cause not Link, not Barclays doesnt answer to my emails.

Ok, so no debt to Barclaycard at all. Not even a credit card.

This was a Barclays overdraft, which Link have now bought, and you dispute.

If or when Link write to you, ask them to prove the debt. There is a template prove-it letter in the sticky threads. Use an old fashioned letter
