I’ve just been shortlisted for a housing association flat- the rent is 690 a month this includes heating water electricity
I know the spare bedroom tax is 14% I was wondering what percentage the utilities will be or what I could expect as HB don’t pay this?

AFAIK electric/ heating is classed as a fuel charge as the rates are shown here

Giving a total of £46.30 a week deduction.
I'm not sure about the water.

Lots of questions here, so to start with lets just ask 3 important ones.Do you currently claim Housing Benefit? (Is it Housing Benefit or Universal Credit?)Is the HA new place in the same local authority area? How many bedrooms at the new place, how many people will be living there?0

If UC Housing , the various utility bills will be listed as ineligible service charges. I.e. ineligible means not covered by benefits, so you have to pay the Housing Association the amount due.
UC Housing will only include Rent and eligible service charges.
Your Housing Association should provide all of this information.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
Thanks for your replies.. I figured the 14% 96 ish even though the spare bedroom is for my carer, and I figured it probably be about another 100 for utilities I’m paying 200 just for my gas and electric and water in a one bedroom atm so I’m basically getting a bigger house for the same price I’m paying now- but I’m sure to ask about fair usage policy’s…0
