I CANT BELEIVE IT - my appeal was approved and the PCN has been cancelled! I thought I was clearly in the wrong but I guess they didn't want to get into it or maybe they recognised the appeal template

Glad to hear it. Very rare.

But the lesson is surely to avoid private car parks with private firm signs up.  Drive away.

I never ever park in those places (except if using shops on site and I always read the scam signs). Look for signs. Leave. Park on street instead, every time.

Absolutely, I will be avoiding private car parks like the plague after this!

For anyone else reading this: 1. Avoid. 2. If you can't avoid, read signs thoroughly. 3. Take pictures of EVERYTHING including signs. 4. If you get a PCN, don't pay and always appeal (after complaining through Plan A of course)
