Barclaycard refund

Hello, I have read some other information on MSE regarding Barclaycard and refunds from payment plans, back in 2022.  I had a Barclaycard, when I was made redundent back in 2014, I spoke to them, they came up with a repayment plan, after some months I got a job and continued paying. The card was paid off a few years ago. But I have just received a letter offering me a  refund of some mis-intrest , with an added compensation. Do I take this nice offer or should I complain to see if they owe me more as there is no breakdown of interest charges on the letter. Plus the fact at the time I was going through a lot of hardship and I take it I was paying excess interest? Any help please.

they may be refunding some interest they should have stopped adding because you told them you were in difficulty or this could be a NOSIA refund because they failed to send out some letters.
Unless you have kept statements, you will have to ask Barclaycard for the information to see if you can argue that the refund should be larger and that could be difficult.
If the debt is still showing on your credit record as it was a payment arrangement and settled less than 6 years ago you could ask Barclaycard to correct this as the debt would have been settled earlier if they hadnt added the interest incorrectly.

    Take the money.
Complaining will not get anymore, as they are working on FSA guidelines.

This, except it's FCA not the Food Standards Agency

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
