Leaking blender

Hi
My Kenwood BL23 blender attachments have started to leak through the blades.
Have dismantled one and could try replacing the small nylon washers.
Just not sure how much vertical play there should be. Also if any grease should be used.

I'm unable the get the coupler off the other housing on the left. Clockwise to unscrew and very tight.
£32 for a replacement and the complete 3 in 1 blender was around £30.
The motor itself is fine, it's just the leaks that make a bit of a mess on the drive coupling.
Any help appreciated.

Personally I'd replace with a spare.

Unfortunately I think you'll find a brand new blender of an equivalent model/functionality is likely to be well over £100. For some reason blenders are much more expensive than they were in the past.

When my husband burnt the motor out on my Phillips blender 18 months ago I was dismayed at the cost of an equivalent/replacement.

We ended up with a Magimix (which he paid for), costing around £250 for a blender with a jug and spice mill / jar attachment... However, the bonus is, that the Magimix is substantially more powerful than the Philips, and crucially (given how he likes to challenge it) can have it's motor replaced!

    Thanks for the reply.
There's quite a few budget blenders available but the better quality ones like Ninja start at around £100. I'll look into the spare base/blade but will try and fix it first..
These parts probably aren't designed for ease of maintenance but it looks like the small nylon washers have worn.
Maybe from over washing the housing plus the manual states not to immerse in water.

The washers are an unusual size with a 7mm inside diameter but have found and ordered some.

Fixed with a £2.00 pack of washers and a good clean. Managed to get the gear drive off with a pair of grips.
