Month wait for Autoglass appointment

Options
Have been trying to arrange a windscreen replacement as directed by my insurer. The earliest date shown at our closest Autoglass was 30th September but it wouldn’t let me select any times then or for weeks ahead. Tried phoning them but they just had an automated message saying the booking must be made online.

Eventually discovered that dates after 18th October can be selected and booked online. Same wait for all locations I tried.

Is this normal for them?

Autoglass normally have long waits for you to go to them, however one can normally get an appointment in a few days for them to visit.

I had the same in the spring. Took them 10 days to come back to me in the 1st place and then a further 2 week wait. I live in London and offered to go anywhere within m25 as I needed my car to work . Insured with admiral and honestly a worthless part of the car insurance as it wasnt delivered.  Ended up having to pay myself

But if your insurer is paying you are a bit limited.

  • In mid August, I called Autoglass immediately after my windscreen cracked and they had appointments available in 2 days. However, I opted for OEM windscreen and it took a bit of waiting for approval from insurance, part order and then fitting. But at no point in process, I did anything online. Have you tried calling them?
