Chip sign up problem

I just signed up for Chip to get the sign up boost on the ISA. When I click to put money into the account it only gives me one opinion of automatic connection to my bank. However it keeps failing with an error.

I doubt Halifax (my bank) has a problem.

Anyone else tried today or recently with or without success?

  • I just tested it by doing an Experian boost to Halifax and it worked so clearly a problem with Chip.

So are they reliable and worth bothering with?

They usually are reliable but there seems to be a technical problem today. I have made countless deposits to, and withdrawals from Chip

I have just made a successful deposit from a previously connected Santander account. so may be the problem has been fixed.

NB. Experian working with Halifax would only be meaningful if Experian use Truelayer to connect to Halifax. Do they? There are several other Open Banking connections. Chip use Truelayer

  • I an having problems with error messages with the Chip app when trying to add funds to my ISA. Worked yesterday not today.
