Hi everyone,
I moved into my house many years ago and paid a month in advance. Now I’m moving I have a month to pay up front which I have saved up ready to go. However, how do I get the month in advance back, that I paid when I moved in? Why is this boggling my brain so much!
At the time I was on housing benefit but now I have universal credit (plus my wages)
thank you

do you mean you paid a deposit ie a month's rent as deposit + a month's rent in advance ?
or
just paid a month's rent at the beginning of the month?0 -
Hi, I paid a deposit plus a months rent in advance. I’ll be doing the same when I move.0

If you paid in advance the assumption is that you will be present during that time
eg - if you paid rent on 1st Sep that pays for the month of September
If you move out on Sep 30th then no rent is due for Oct on property 1 but will have to be paid for property 2 in advance for 30th Sep to 30th Oct3
