Advice needed on money transfer from Canada to UK using Wise

Hi,

I'm looking for advice on using Wise to transfer money from a Canadian bank (Royal Bank Canada - RBC) to a UK bank (Monzo) for my son. He's signed up to Wise and wishes to make several transfers - the speed of transfer is not important, but simply the cheapest option.

He wishes to avoid the E-Transfer option as that seems quite expensive.

Can anyone advise how to do this in the cheapest way?

Complete information on sending from CAD with Wise, including the various ways to pay, is available in the help section of the app or online. It does include the following:

"Note that RBC Royal Bank no longer offers Interac [e-Transfer] as a payment option for individuals and businesses. Individuals can use the Visa Debit option with the appropriate card."

The payment options are listed:

You can pay for your transfer by:

• direct debit (EFT)

• online bill payment

• debit/credit card

• wire transfer

• Interac e-Transfer

From Wise' example it looks like "Domestic wire transfer" or "Bill payment" are the cheapest options.  Be aware there have been several reports recently on delays in transfers from USA and Canada bqsed banks with extra veridication steps being blamed.
