House Insurance

What ho one and all,

My house insurance is due and having received emails from the comparison web sites that I checked last year, the current "best" offer is £2000, increased from £350!!!

Wow, I can hardly believe my good luck.

Have spoken with the current insurer and Direct Line, both of whom tell me they are unable to offer a policy 'because of your postcode rating.'

What does that mean?

Thanks and toodle pip

    Who are your current insurers?

"rating" is just another word for pricing, so they are saying their systems are saying they dont like you postcode... could be flood or subsidence based or it could be they've had a series of high value claims in the area from theft or arson etc. Some insurers do full postcodes, some do their rating at postcode sector (so AB10 1XY becomes AB10 1)
