Cheque clearances.

Hello, I have a couple of relatively large cheques I'm going to take to a bank/bs tomorrow, I don't need the money asap but I would like to have it available if possible this time next week as one of my ISAs funding window closes then.

Are there any particular banks or building societies who are better in this situation? I have accounts with most High St branches plus societies like Nwide, Cov, WB etc.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Most banks and building societies clear cheques by the end of the next working day:

When I paid one into Halifax it cleared by the end if the next day. 

Can you pay then in with the app? Halifax let you pay in cheques uo to £10,000 thst way.

As said by posters above, most banks clear cheques by next day. NatWest certainly does.

Remember that this is going to be working days. 
So paying in today 20th is going to be Monday at best, could be Tuesday.

B/S may take longer as they may not have the processing system in place & they get sent off.
