Car insurance call attemtped theft mallisoius damage

My car was parked in an overnight garage and was attempted to be stolen. The thief sawed a hole to disble the alarm and unlocks. However it has extra security and failed. It was caught on camaera, but insurance company have not see, they are saying malious damage not theft. Any help

  • If the car wasn't stolen - is there an issue as to how they classify it as long as they put it right? Can you explain the issue? No doubt they have to repair the bodywork by replacing the damaged panel, and that should put you back in your original position?

    Possibly only TPFT insurance so if they arev refusing attempted theft there is no Comprehensive element to make a claim

    Do you have TPFT or Comp cover?

    If you have comp it makes little difference if its theft, attempted theft or malicious damage

    You need to read your policy book, looking at direct line's it categorically states that the Theft section includes damage as a result of an attempted theft as well as a successful theft.
