Even if they don't report to the CRA. It will show as a unpaid DD on your credit history.
Not if it's cancelled it won't.

If the companies goes to collect the amount. It can lead to them charging a fee for a bounced DD & then going to court for non payment.

Given the company is going to be expecting the £251 it's a given that they're not going to be entirely happy about it.

They are not going to get anything on their credit report for cancelling the DD. They are (maybe) going to get something if they cancel the DD and refuse to deal with the issue entirely. Which was not something I was advocating.

It's interesting you can't buy the phone at the end of the period, I wonder how many get repaired and whether MM make anything out of the repair cost?

Can't see MM going to court for a couple of hundred quid, don't know enough about phones to say if the fee is reasonable, if OP cancels their DD, as they acknowledge the damage, it seems fair something is paid.

That Mrwhosetheboss guy did a video on phone repairs, IIRC the manufacturer repairs were expensive but superior so cheap may not cut it (particularly with regards to it still being water resistant after the repair)
