E.ON Next Early Exit Fee
Options
The E.on Next 2 year fixed tariff currently being offered has an early exit fee of £100 if you change supplier, as per the screenshot below. I signed up to version 18 a month ago which said the same.
However when I got my email confirmation it said "An exit fee of £100 per fuel will be applied if you change product or supplier before your tariff end date."
I was not too concerned at the time as I was expecting the 2 year fixed rate to increase. But now I see that v19 is cheaper by £3.13 per month.
I have emailed them to ask if my exit fee would also apply if I just changed product. I expect it will but I do think that their headline terms should be updated.

Have you checked out the Eon Next dedicated forum they have and asked there as well as some customer service staff actually respond on their forum,2

The only way you will get around that is for them to promise to remove the fees once incurred. I've tried it on a few times now but they won't budge. Luckily, I'll be able to get out of mine mid Nov (49 day get out) just before the cold weather starts.1

I have just got the following email from E.ON Next.Hi RG2015
You will not face any charges, however if the charge does get applied it would be automated and this will be removed by our back team. Thank you

I have also just now got their confirmation email for changing from v18 to v19. Interestingly, this only mentions that changing supplier, not supplier or product, would incur an early exit fee.

You'd think their system would make exit fees consistent but I was told I would incur exit fees if I wanted to change tariffs so I stayed with them.
However, after a while I decided to change suppliers and it was a nice surprise when I received my final bill and they hadn't charged me exit fees at all, despite me being nowhere near the end of the tariff term.2 -
