Had some lvt fitted 1 March 2024, it come with a warrenty for floor and fitting -
anyways move to now and they have been back twice to fix pins coming through the floor, second fix solution was to remove these pins totally in effected tiles, this was done 27 Aug 2024. Since then had 3 more new tiles with issue and raised it where they have tried to blame now subfloor movement for this issue and said there is no issue in hall but is lounge due to subfloor.
For context - hall had a new subfloor laid prior to lvt install due to really old damage which was more freak event then issue with house
the hall has a new subfloor,6mm ply, lvt no issues.
the lounge which has issues has the following layers: old subfloor, ply, old lvt, 6mm ply, new lvt. It was advised to lay new lvt over this as it would stop ridges and we went along with this.
this is the only differences between the rooms.

anyway- im not sure they will fix this again and wondered what exactly i can do about this if anything? With time frame based…
thanks

Do you know if the contractors used SP101 flooring grade plywood?

Hopefully the same company did the ply and the LVT so it will be there issue to resolve... if it's different contractors you may find it a messy situation to resolve.
  • Hi it is glued down LVT,
No idea about what ply was used
it is the company who does both supplying and fitting
It is Amtico signiture LVT @Bradden @Emmia

im trying to work out issue causing it really and what is likely to happen next with current fixing thats been done…
hall has no issue and is subfloor, ply, lvt
    loung is subfloor,ply,lvt,ply,lvt.
Lounge has the issues. Unsure what i can do about this under consumer law? Especially if no fix is possible bar a entire rip of back to subfloor for a relay? Thanks
  • The good news is that you've contracted with one business to supply and fit.  Some don't, and end up in buck-passing as the flooring supplier blames the fitter and vice versa.

You have a right to expect a professional company to select flooring appropriate to the setting and when fitting it, to make sure what's underneath is suitable and compatible with the flooring.  It sounds as if they've made an error when judging the suitability of the multiple layers underneath the lounge flooring.  I'm not a fitter, but four layers of material on top of the subfloor sounds excessive, and creates lots of scope for movement.

Anyway, you have a right to a proper floor, and they have the right to correct problems.  From what you've described I can't see how this can be fixed without removing everything and refitting it.
