EON - Advice sought please!

Hi all, I'm hoping for some advice if you have the time. I'll try and explain my issue clearly.
I'm with EON. I've been put on a zero payment for past 6 months as my financial situation is dire. I'm aware the debt is still there and building, and am trying to do my best to get back on my feet and deal with it, too.
I got a letter this week threatening me telling me that they would be registering a default with a CRA if I didn't settle in full or come to an arrangement.
I rang immediately in a panic. After a couple of checks, they confirmed I'm still on a zero payment hold and that they are not seeking payment of the debt at this time. HOWEVER, they were going to still report my account as me being as default on my payments and would do so monthly going forward.
I'm trying so hard to get my credit file back on track, and this really shocked me (naively?). I genuinely don't see how I'm in default on my payments, when I'm not currently expected to make any payments?
My second issue with them is that I found out yesterday, by doing some research myself, that they have an Energy Fund that you can apply for support from. Bearing in mind this is 9 months in and despite multiple calls and emails, this is the first time I've heard about it.
I raised this with them and asked why I wasn't told about it previously so I could apply, and their response was to offer me a £10 voucher, which I refused. I told them that I wanted to raise a complaint. After the call I got an email about an hour later telling me my complaint has been closed as being dealt with. I immediately emailed back and there was an email exchange where they basically repeated tried to tell me I had no basis for my complaint until I finally just asked them if they were not going to allow me to make a complaint.
I'm so stressed by it all!

I think this ought to be moved across to the Debt Free wannabe board - you can probably report it yourself to request that this happens, but if you would also like us to add a report asking the same thing, just shout!
On the question of the CRA report, unfortunately, although they have currently put your account on hold, I suspect what they would say is that contractually there is no written-in provision for this to happen, and so you have been defaulting. The hold is a goodwill gesture on their part, and they are entitled to attach such conditions to that as they see fit, I suspect.
Once the post is on DFW you will find a lot of solid assistance. It might be a good plan to start putting together your SOA (Statement of affairs) though as that will be useful to be able to make suggestions on your overall situation. There is a link to the calculator we suggest you use in my signature below.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Would agree with above.
On CRA, it is a factual report. So even when a company has offered to freeze the account to give you some breathing space, they should be reporting this non payment.Life in the slow lane0
