TERMS AND CONDITIONS for “Tesco Mobile – Autumn Campaign” (the “Competition”).

 

These terms and conditions (the “Specific Terms”) for the Competition should be read alongside  our general competition terms and conditions at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html (the “General Terms”) which will also apply to this Competition. Where there is any conflict between these Specific Terms and the General Terms, the Specific Terms shall prevail.

 

1.ENTRY ROUTES AND COSTS

Entries are restricted to one entry per person.

 

Entry to the Competition is available via the following routes:

 

(A)   Online at absoluteradio.co.uk or planetradio.co.uk/absolute-radio

 

Online entry is free of charge.

 

2.COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN

2.1 The On-air Game. This is a pre-register competition to take part in the on-air Tesco Mobile competition.

(A) In order to be eligible to win, entrants must go online absoluteradio.co.uk and tell us the following details:

1. Full name and contact details

2. Pick a hobby/ interest from the five options on the page

3. Entrant must also agree to these terms and conditions

 

(B) Registering to participate in Absolute Radio’s Hometime promotion does not provide any guarantee that your request will be selected to participate in the on-air competition or that you will win a prize.

 

 

2.1.2 Shortlisting and being invited to play the on-air game

 

i.               The Absolute Radio production team will draw a shortlist of potential contestants from the pre-registered entries. These shall be selected by random electronic drawer, whereby we will generate two players for each category, each day.

 

ii.              The Absolute Radio production team will contact you to check your availability & eligibility to play the on-air game.

 

iii.             Being contacted does not guarantee you will play the on-air game.

 

iv.             Being invited to play the on-air game does not guarantee you will win a prize or prizes.

 

v.              If you have been selected to play the on-air game, you must be contactable on the phone number you provided and, on the time and date agreed with the Absolute Radio production team.

 

vi.             The Absolute Radio production team reserve the right to choose another contestant from the shortlist if they are unable to contact you.

 

vii.           On shortlisting, the Absolute Radio production team will contact the entrants, and we will require those who are shortlisted to explain their interest in their chosen hobby / interest. The entry must match the entry that was entered online. The entrant may then be selected to go to the next phase of the competition, to go live on-air and play the on air game.

 

2.1.3 The competition will air during the Hometime Show (“the Show”) with Bush & Richie (“the presenters”) between 1600 and 1900, on daily from Monday the 23rd  to Friday the 27th of September 2024.

 

viii.          Two contestants will join the Hometime Presenters on air each day. These two contestants will have picked the same interest or hobby on the co-branded creative page. We will ask each contestant one question, related to that hobby or interest. If the contestant gets their question right, they will win £1,000 cash for their community. They will then have the chance to win £1,000 cash for the other player, by answering a second question about the chosen hoppy or interest. If player A successfully answers their second question, they will win £1,000 cash for Player B. Player B will then have to successfully answer their second question, in order to win £1,000 cash for Player A. There is therefore the opportunity for each player to win up to £2,000 each.

ix.             Absolute Radio have the final decision on all answers given and reserve the right to appoint winners regardless of correct or incorrect answers.

x.              The entrant will only be deemed a winner, upon being selected and told by the presenters and the Absolute Radio production team that they are a winner.

xi.             Only upon being told they are a winner, the contestant will then receive help from the Absolute Radio team in the way that was discussed on-air.

Entering online does not guarantee you will be invited to play the on-air game or win the prize.

 

All final decisions will rest with the Absolute Radio Production Team.

 

The Absolute Radio Team reserve the right to pre-record any part of this competition with contestants prior to the 'as-live' broadcast.

 

*The winner is the person who is announced as the final winner by the Hometime presenters during the record of the on-air game stage.

3. ENTRY PERIOD

Entries must be submitted during the following entry period:

3.1 The On-air Game

 

i. Online Pre-registration to play the on-air game will be open from 00:01am on Wednesday 18thSeptember 2024 (Start Date) and will close on Friday 27th September at 12pm (End Date).

 

ii. The on-air competition will broadcast on Hometime with Bush & Richie Monday 23rd – Friday 27th of September 2024, between 16:00 and 19:00 each day. The finalists will be given information of when the exact timings will be ahead of being brought to air.

 

Please note: Entering online does not guarantee you will be invited to play the on-air game.

 

iii. The winners of the competition will be announced on-air during each competition round.

 

ii. Entries received before the Start Time or after the End Time will be invalid.

Please note: Absolute Radio reserves the right to remove the competition for an event such as a public holiday.

 

4. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS

Entrants to the on-air competition must adhere to the specific terms and conditions mentioned below, in addition to Bauer Media’s Competition General Terms & Condition:

 

·      Open to UK residents aged 18 years or over on date of entry.

·      Our employees (and their family members) are not permitted to enter.

·      Anyone who has won a Bauer competition to the value of £500 or more within the past 6 months on any Bauer Radio Brand, they or anyone living at the winning address will not be eligible to win this competition. If by any chance they get through to the phone lines – any prize they have been successful with will not be awarded.

·      We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant or winner who does not comply with any of the eligibility criteria and/or is in breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to repeat the competition mechanic or any stage of it in order to draw a winner that fulfils all of the eligibility criteria and is in compliance with these Terms.

5. THE PRIZE

On-Air Prizes

There will be 1x on-air prize winner per day from Monday 23rd – Friday 27th of September 2024, each day (5 x winners in total).

The winners will receive the following prize (the “Prize”):

Up to £2,000 cash, via bank transfer, if they successfully answer both questions. *

 

The ‘participant’ will win 1 x cash prize to put towards their community and 1 x cash prize for their self (maximum prize value of £2,000). Limitations apply. 

 

Prizes are non-negotiable, non-transferable, non-refundable and no cash alternative will be offered on any aspects of the prize that isn’t cash itself.

 

*Please note that Bauer Media will aim to fulfil cash prizes within 28 days but there may be delays due to unforeseen circumstances. 

 

OTHER CONDITIONS

 

1.      DATA PROTECTION. Names, email addresses, and /or telephone numbers (which, for all SMS competitions, will be shared with our SMS provider) will be collected and used to process entries. Winner’s details may be given to a Prize Provider to arrange delivery of the prize. Your details may remain stored after the End Date but will not be used for marketing unless you have ticked an opt-in box on entry. For SMS entries you automatically consent to receive marketing. You may opt out at any time by texting the word STOP to the relevant text shortcode number. If you have opted in to receive marketing communications, then your details will be used in accordance with the information given when you ticked the opt-in box and gave your consent. 2.      INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONSENTS. By entering this Competition, you are consenting to our use of your entry both to publicise this Competition, our radio station or any other radio station which we own or control. This means that we may use all names, images, descriptions, photographs video footage, and other information, which you have submitted on entry, in any media, without paying you any remuneration therefore and without any time restriction. You also agree that we may film, record or photograph you in connection with the competition and /or the Prize if applicable. We will own these films, recordings or photographs and we may use them publicly, including on the internet, for our radio broadcasts and/or for any promotional purposes. You will also have waived any moral rights or right to payment that you may have had.

 

3.      MISCELLANEOUS.

 

• Entries which do not comply with these Terms or the General Competition Terms and Conditions will not be accepted and any entries may be disqualified if we have any reason to suspect that there is a breach of, or non-compliance with, these Terms.
• Where a competition mechanic involves the answering of questions, the correct answers to questions must match our answers to win (or be sufficiently close in our sole reasonable opinion) to be acceptable. In the event of any dispute about any answers given and whether they are correct, we reserve the right to amend what we deem a correct answer, however we are not obliged to, and our decision in either case is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• We are not responsible if you fail to get through when you call / text to enter, or if you lose signal during a call.
• You are responsible for all costs of entry and where necessary, obtaining the bill payer’s permission. Please refer to your tariff with your network provider for information about charges you may incur for entry into our competitions via any SMS or phone call entry route.
• We accept no liability for network, technical or signal errors, issues or failures experienced by entrants when entering the competition or at any stage during the mechanic of the competition.
• Whilst on-air, you must not make any inappropriate, profane, indecent, harmful or offensive statements. If you do so we reserve the right to take you off-air immediately and disqualify you from the competition. You may be also disqualified from the competition at any time if you are incomprehensible, inaudible or if you appear to be driving, intoxicated or likely to offend listeners. Any prize already won may be withdrawn and re-awarded to another entrant.
• As far as it is lawful to do so we exclude our liability for any losses suffered in connection with the Competition or any element of the Prize.

 

We may cancel, end or suspend the Competition where we are required to do so in circumstances outside our control. We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any stage during the Competition if such amendment is necessary to facilitate the administration of the Competition.
