Fake Feedback?

I purchased an item on eBay from a seller that had feedback of almost 500 so thought nothing off it.

However on looking more in-depth after buying (yes, I know!), a fair proportion of the posts have the exact same comments and there is no feedback for sales. I messaged him earlier  as he said on Sunday it would be sent next day delivery and have not been informed of a despatch.

Am I right to feel suspicious now or worrying about nothing?

Where was the seller? Ebay? Amazon? Facebook? Somewhere else?

Is it a UK based seller with delivery in a couple of days? Or is it from overseas with a delivery of quite a long time?

If it's a UK seller - I definitely wouldn't worry at this stage. If it didn't turn up, you'd report it as such and get your money back. If it turned up and wasn't what you ordered, again, open a case for item received not as described and get your money back. If it's coming from China with a long delivery timescale - it'll need a bit of patience.

It is a UK seller, maybe I expect other sellers to be as efficient as me and mark items as despatched and reply to messages!

That in itself isn't a red flag, it just sounds like they've bought multiple times from the same business.

Not all sellers are as efficient as you, some sellers are very inefficient. I'd hang tight and I'm sure it'll all work out!

Here we are at Friday, not item has arrived, no answer to my messages and no update on the despatch.

can I officially get stressed about it now? 🙄😉

What's to get stressed about? As a buyer eBay 100% has your back; once the predicted delivery date has passed simply open a case and get a refund.

Yes - exactly that If you don't receive it - open an item not received case and you'll get your money back.

Glad to say I got my money back, just 20 minutes after opening a case, well done eBay.
