Spouse not old enough

Just an additional piece of information 
my wife receives pip and I am of pension age she is not and we are not eligible for pension credit I wonder how many like me lose out

    Yes, pension credit is a benefit for pensioners. Since May 2019, unless you were already claiming it, pension credit can only be claimed when both parties in a couple reach SPC age. 

    As your wife is of working age then maybe look into Universal Credit.

    You are not missing out. You cannot claim pension credit until you are both state pension age. In the meantime you need to look at whether you are eligible to claim Universal credit as a mixed age couple.

    Do you and your wife receive any means tested DWP benefits? This is important for payment of the Winter Fuel Payment as it's not just receipt of Pension Credit that would qualify you for WFP.
