Please don't show us our template. Just your bit please.
Sorry - I'm just trying to make sure I understand properly. I've edited my post to show the parts I've edited and asking the question about points number 4 to 30 - as to what is to be included/excluded/changed - I'm really struggling to understand.  I'm also freaking out at the having to go to court. :(
But weeks ago I told you this:
And there won't even be a hearing!  DCB Legal just play a game of poker-face and if you do as we advise, they will discontinue the claim in 2025. No money due. No CCJ. Scam over.  This is when you win.
Your added para 3 looks fine.

Of course you use the whole template defence. If it was meant to be edited it would say so.  This is really simple and you won't go to court.

Read the following thread to learn what happens when forum users follow our advice when dealing with DCB Legal initiated claims. Read the first few posts to get the gist, then scan through other posts to find those involving the PPC pursuing you.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I’ve had a letter from dcb legal this with following the defence I submitted, offering me the option to pay £50 less, as in £180. They’ve given 7 days to accept the offer or have said they will continue with court proceedings. How do I respond to this?

You don't, you ignore it as step 7 in the 12 steps listed in the template defence sticky thread in announcements tells you, please study those 12 steps again, those steps seem to trigger amnesia in many defendants who come here, especially after step 5 or 6

Why are so many people asking this instead of just following the first 12 steps in the Template Defence thread?  I don't know where else to put the first 12 steps.

Same with me.  I do understand, honestly. I am a woman of a certain age who has lost more loved ones than a single other person I know. Sadly, life can be crap.

And yes it brings you down. We'll help you but we do need newbies to follow the 12 steps or we'd drown on here. And we do this in our own time so it is a struggle. We do our best.

    I’ve today received a text from gov.uk:

Small Claims Mediation Service: Mediation Reminder: Claim xxxxxx, 22/01/2025 between 09:30-12:30. Please refer to your email/letter with details

My issue is I have not received an email or letter, so have no idea how to progress with this. Are they going to call me? I don’t want to ignore this and find I get further penalties.

Apologies if there is advice for this done where else. I couldn’t find anything.

Contact them and ask after checking that they would have had your correct address (i.e from the claim form) and checking your spam and junk folders.  I have seen this e-mail: -

Yep they'll just call you. No biggie.

See the first 12 steps in the Template Defence thread where there are 2 links telling you what to say to the mediator.

Do not offer money unless you fancy trying this, which is a win in my book:
