Underpaid Careers Allowance from the 1990's

I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction.... my mum was a carer for my grandparent's for many years back in the 1990's, on a Martin Lewis show she was made aware she was due a pay out as she was classed as an underpaid carer (she also had to pay over 1k back when she went back to work).
Does anybody know how she can go about making a claim??
Thanks in advance for any help :-)

Were your grandparent's in receipt of any of the qualifying benefits, that would allow your mother to claim carers allowance?Life in the slow lane0

Hi, thanks for responding. No, not that I'm aware of, it would've just been their state pension. Mum looked after them both for a number of years only claiming carers allowance, now to be told she was underpaid. And she had to pay some of what she got back.0

Carer's Allowance: Eligibility - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
You've used the term 'underpaid carers' a couple of times, but I've not come across the term before and and can't find any reference to it using google - perhaps you mean 'unpaid carers' ?
I don't suppose you know which Martin Lewis show it was she saw ?0 -
Wonder if it is on the back of something like this.

Which will have been all over social media.
Also this here.

But would not expect to be able to go back to the 90's
There are a couple of mentions on backdating of 3 months & also to the start of the previous tax year. (from google) so no idea on just how this would apply.Life in the slow lane0
