G24 Parking Charge Notice

Hello all,
This is my 1st time on here so apologies in advance if I get something wrong.
I received a parking charge notice from G24 for over staying in a car park by 14 minutes. I was shopping I a retail park with my young son and genuinely lost track of time. However, considering the amount of stores there 2 hours just went enough in my opinion.
I ignored the 1st letter they sent as I've heard bits and bobs about private companies fines etc, however, they sent me another letter dated 02/09/24 now stating the fine is £100 and if not paid they will take further steps to recover the amount via a debt recovery agency. I've researched a bit and found private companies cannot use Baillifs (I'm assuming that's whay a debt recovery company is).
Can anyone advise where I stand? Should I appeal on the grounds that considering how many stores there are it just took me longer as I had my 4 year old with me? Should I pay it? If not, will I get a CCJ against me? Which I cannot afford to have as I'm saving for a mortgage.
Thank you om advance for your time

Hi, thanks for redirecting me. I've had a read through the posts you mentioned but it's still not any clearer to me. Unless I've read the I correct section. Are you able to copy and paste the links to the relevant posts please?0

Some simple do's and don'ts...
- Don't identify yourself as the driver.
- Do appeal (as registered keeper).
- Do contact the stores and see if they can get the invoice cancelled.
- Don't go to that place again.
- Don't ignore things; if the parking scammers go to court and you don't defend, then you will have to pay and if you don't pay you'll get a CCJ.
- Do listen to the knowledgeable folks here.
Oh, and it's not a fine; it's an invoice from a scammer requesting you pay for trangressing some made-up rules.3 -
No we don't do that, for the good reason that it doesn't help newbies navigate the forum.annoyed1219 said:Hi, thanks for redirecting me.
