Facebook Phone App - a couple of 'notifications' cannot be removed. Grrr.

Hi.
I have Fb on my PC and phone. The same notifications come through on both, and are usually click-click deletable on each with no hassle. Except for two that I cannot get rid of on my phone app - they have been there for weeks, now, with no obvious way to remove them. I have deleted them on my PC as normal; the option to do so - 'X' - came up.
The first pic shows the two stubborn notifications - both are normal and valid notifications for me to receive. However, when I touch the ... three-dot menu, the option to 'remove' isn't one of them - the second photo shows the menu that appears, with no 'remove' option.
What the hell?

Thanks.

I'm not sure I understand.
The only notification in your pictures is the number 4 in the Facebook marketplace logo.
Are you talking about the posts about the museum and Taunton? If so you don't normally remove posts from your feed, although you can manage them and see more or less of those types of posts, depending on your preferences.

They are just two of regular notifications I receive from that group, and I usually have the option of deleting them by clicking on the three-dot menu, and selecting 'remove notification' - jobbie jobbed. But these two are there whenever I go on Fb on my phone, on the opening page, with no means to remove them via the menu.I have deleted them from my PC Fb page simply by clicking the 'X' at their top-right corners. These two remain, and are the first thing I see when I open my phone App - why can't I get rid of them?!Perhaps I should try deleting and reinstalling the App?Cheers.(The 4 Marketplace notifications are something different - that's fine).0 -

I wasn't aware of the difference - I call them all 'notifications' :-).But the Q remains - how do I get rid?!I get these regularly - which is what I'm signed up to and expect - but they are usually straight forward to remove once read, either by stabbing on the 'X', or via the menu - 'remove this notification'. How come these are hanging around?Thanks.0 -

Only notifications can be removed. Posts are just in your timeline. Once youve scrolled past them and the timeline refreshes yhey disappear.
If you are seeing them too often then its either because you have chosen them to be prioritised, youve filtered the timeline to only show posts from those groups or the algorithm decides you like them and keeps showing them to you.1 -

Ok, fair enough. They've been there for a good while now - I've just checked, the 27th Aug. I've read them, clicked on them, menu'd them, shouted at them. How can I make them go away, please?Ta :-)

How can I make them go away, please?Ta :-)In my post I’ve mentioned what could be the reason(s) but we can’t advise from a distance as we don’t know what you have selected, chosen and what feed settings you’ve used.Clicking on them won’t help, I’m afraid. In fact it will only tell the the algorithm that you are interested in them.1 -
It could be because you are following the person who posted them?
Have a look at your settings and see what's related that you could have set to prioritise.1 -
Have you tried clicking into those posts, as if you’ve read them? Then when you go back to your main feed, pull down (with your finger) to refresh the feed?
Having said that there have been notifications where I have had to delete and reinstall the app!Fashion on the Ration

I am following them, TTW, as I need to have these messages. But every other one has either an 'X' to delete, or a three-dot menu with 'remove' as an option.I'm sure I've clicked on it numerous times, SarahS, but I'll try what you suggest again. All else fails, it's delete and reinstall App!Thank you all.0
