I can understand why lenders would be interested in people's debt history - not that I am saying it is right to be reported.
Are you familiar with the shift key's function?theartfullodger said:When you wrote to Capital one and asked them about it what did they reply, please?
capital one have advised that they are reporting correctly and they cannot do anything about itI have also phoned capital one again this evening and spoken to their team who deals with credit amendments and all they are saying is from the IVA because of how it works capital one agreed to receive a portion of the balance in order to settle and agree to the IVA hence why the remaining balance of £131
they have told me that it would make no difference now if I paid it or not and that the default is coming off 27th August next year they said they are reporting correctly because the account went into default because the balance wasn’t settled but I wouldn’t have been chased for the remaining amount because of the IVA
But they are adamant it’s being reported correctly

they said that capital one have the power and should be able to make a credit amendment for me as this shouldn’t be causing me a problem now

It looks like there are at least 2 defaults as the last 4 digits differ. This is all the information I currently have in regards to this matter hopefully you will be able to assist me further0 -
Capital One are right that this will all be sorted in August next year, you could spend months trying to get this sorted before then.
But if you want to, you need to send them a formal complaint in writing, never try to get credit reporting errors resolved on the phone and then send it to the Ombudsman if Capital One reject it.0
