British Gas complaint - how?

Long story shortened.  
I used USwitch comparison website on 29th June to fix a new tariff with British Gas (I’m with them anyway). I had a confirmation email from USwitch.  
Checked a few weeks later and it hadn’t been switched to the new tariff. 
I’ve had 10-15 emails back and forth to British Gas and they’re avoiding my question, refusing the switch and offering me to choose a current tariff (at a higher rate).

the customer services name I’m dealing with has been awkward, useless and purposely avoiding answering any of my questions, even when I asked for their managers email address and that of customer complaints.

how can I escalate this issue please? At present, every email I send is met with a poorly worded, almost auto reply.  Frustrated!!!
