NUS Amazon Discount Expired!

Hi,

Just so people are aware, the 5% off at Amazon offer expired 31st October 2007! I tried to use it today and it just comes up with "This offer has already been redeemed. Please enter another claim code or leave this field blank."

Bit of a swizz if you ask me, especially seeing as they still advertise it on the NUS site!

It still works for me. Only works for Books, DVDs and CDs. It remembers my code so I don't have to keep entering it. It just takes 5% off automatically when I buy a qualifying item.

I think you need to get this year's code from the NUS Extra website.

Slightly off-topic. Mine doesn't work because although I have received my new card, the NUS website doesn't let me activate it because it doesn't recognise the card number. Have to phone them up I guess..grrrr.

i tried to used this years code for th 2nd time last week but it did not work. i just presumed that it must only have been for 1 transaction

According to the nus booklet that came with the extra card it is valid til 31st October 2008, or upto a cumulative spend of £1500. It changed from last year where it was 5% on everything that amazon sold to just books, music and dvds. If its not working I'd contact them. I've only used it once this year, and it should be noted at least at the time the t-shirts were classed as "music" so it worked.

I had similar problems, it only seemed to be looking at last years code. I got in touch with NUS by phone amd they sorted it really quickly. Don't bother emailing, the replies are slooooow if at all.

Have to admit that my problem with this offer now is that it is only for books, DVDs and CDs - last year it worked on absolutely everything, so not as good as it was. Never mind, better than nothing!

Did NUS supply you with a new discount code or did they fix the problem with the original code?

Seem to remember that it was a new code. The whole mixup was around the site itself, I think - the login you create when you send off for the card is not the same one that you have to use to get the code etc, they should send you that login seperately by email. It was very confusing and I got very frustrated.

I've heard that NUS are getting quite worried about not enough people buying cards, and people being put off by the £10 charge, so stick to your guns -this is one of their big NUS only deals, so they have a lot invested in it working.
