Good morning all
Thank you for the start Scarlet
Really chilly start to the day, had rain overnight.
Need to go out and pick up a click and collect from M&S.
Tried to do yet another tidy of my freezer yesterday.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -
I'm back and have just lost a longish post by accidentally tapping my screen in the wrong place, maddening.
I'll just wish everyone a good day, take care folks.10 -
Morning everyone and thanks for starting us off Scarlet.
It looks like being a lovely day, so the washing machine is doing it's thing and hopefully it will dry outside.
Hope everybody has a good week. xx9 -
Morning all. The sky is a watery blue so perhaps the day will be good. 🤞
My financial fiddling yesterday kept me occupied for a good while, especially when I 'lost' £10 for ages. Of course, it was down to me hitting a wrong key putting 76 rather than 66, something so simple but difficult to find. I ordered some flowers for my late DMum's cleaner. She was so good to my Mum for years and kept going during the pandemic. After Mum died she really helped me with the flat, I am still grateful for her. Anyway, she'll get some letterbox flowers tomorrow. This week is forecasted to be dry and warm, about time. I hope that everyone has the same. Hugs to our poorlies.10 -
Morning all.
It looks to be a dry and sunny day here so I washed three winter jackets last night and they can dry on the line today. Two of them belonged to DH and I almost had to prise them out of his hands, he was so reluctant!
I'm off to JL on the bus this morning to browse curtains, as the ones downstairs are about 25 years old and definitely need replacing.
Leek, onion and potato soup to be made when I get back. I bought a pack of 4 nectarines in Lidl yesterday and noticed one of them is starting to go mouldy already this morning. Not good.
Anyway, hope everyone's day goes well.9 -
Good morning from a sunny Mehefinland
Note to self; read poster properly! Well I wandered down to the beach Saturday all fired up to litter pick and there was nobody there! Hung around a bit and decided to come home and check. You guessed it - it was Sunday. Anyway. take 2 went ok and a large amount of rubbish taken off the beach. During this episode of fun I got a phone call saying that the hay man wanted to deliver in the afternoon. Timing was not good for me, but needs must so legged it home, found some cash to pay for it and waited. In the meantime my nearly 5yr old and his mum came to see the horses. I think the little one was more interested in his toy skateboard and how it would wizz along the barn floor.
After all that it was an airport run to pick up Hele and hubby who had been to Portugal. Fortunately airport is only about 3 miles away so not a big deal.
Home, and crash!
Think today will be a quieter day , although need to cut the grass at some point. Need to dig out the dead freezer from the shed that Dawn wouldn't let me get rid of!! She had a masters degree in prevarication, and would put off all sorts of things for another day ( the exception being anything to do with the horses). The council will take it, but at £29 for 3 items I shall need to find something else to go too. Before my car died I could have taken it to the tip in that, but the new to me one has a huge lip into the boot and it just won't fit. 1st world problems!
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning folks, thanks SCARLET. We currently have mist but the sun is forecast to burn through and remain with us all day, giving us temps of 18 deg. What a difference a day makes! Yesterday was gloomy and chilly all day. Long may this late summer last.
I have a busy day of to-ing and fro-ing today. Hairdresser coming this morning (hope she aint scissor happy) and after lunch my chappie coming to service the boiler. Inbetween I am hopeful of going out back and clearing the pots of all the plants that have gone over. The Japanese anemone are to cut back too, I have never known any flowers take over like they do.
GERS your soup talk yesterday set me thinking as I haven't been making any throughout the summer. I had a longing for some Pea and Ham but when I looked I didn't have any split peas left from last winter. I have plenty of red lentils so will have to settle on Lentil and Bacon for now!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and sad. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"7 -
Morning all, sorry been MIA after a busy few days, so hope everyone is as well as can be. Yesterday we went out for a late Sunday lunch with some friends - we all had the roast dinner & the Yorkshire puds were enormous! We all enjoyed it.It was at the pub where DH meets his friends on Thursdays, but it now has new owners after a revamp & seems to be doing really well so far. It's still a bit foggy here,& yesterday we were so cold & wet at dgd's football. Felt sorry for them, big loss and they were also down to 9 instead of 11 players with some inc. DGD clearly under the weather. She was off school on Friday with a cough.Gers, we have already been having soup for lunches for the last 2 weeks
, and I did buy some leeks at the weekend hmm.
Tea is already sorted, green thai curry ( cheat meal DH picked up on Saturday)Right better go and sort the house out after the weekend.TA - Last night I fiddled with the heating/water timer,- it was off, and I just put it on manually over the 'summer' , but it's back on auto now, just need to alter the timings a bit. I overrode it after an hour once it had warmed a bit.It is meant to be warmer this week, we'll see. I put the smart meter thingy away over summer, need to get it back out to monitor things again now!Take care all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Happy Monday
As usual I think the weekend was a blur and I can’t remember if I posted 😂
Anyway lots of gardening done Saturday and lots of craft stuff done yesterday as it rained.Slept badly cos my head was too busy with craft ideas - this is a common theme!Just about to dig walk as the mist has lifted over the river valley. More faffing later no doubt.DDad is now driving short distances and they’ve just gone shopping without me needing to be chauffeur for the first time in 9 weeks - feels a bit odd but nice.Lots of campervan shenanigans to sort too as I’m off to Scotland on Friday 👍🥳

Hi everyone,
It must be the season, I'm planning to make soup today, leek and potato and broccoli cheese.
Both children are out today although Esther was unhappy this morning. She's not sleeping very well ATM. On the other hand Esben asked to go to bed early, he had a very busy weekend. He had his first football training session on Saturday, stayed to play on the playground equipment then in the afternoon met and played with a friend at a different playground. After all that Brian took the children to yet another friend's for a barbecue (Laura was in London doing karaoke). Yesterday Brian took him for a long bike ride on the trailer bike we got him so it's no wonder he was shattered.
Spag BOL for dinner, it's already made so that's an easy evening which is good because Laura doesn't finish work until 7 tonight.
Have a good day.8
