Hi
Hope someone can help, I have just bought a Sony Bravia 40" Lcd, I have set it up and recieve Ok, but am really disappointed in the quality of picture, I was expecting the "wow" factor but get the "oh hummm" factor, the set is clearly a quality product so I assume it must be something in the settings or connectivity? The picture is just noy very sharp and is a little "misty" almost like too much contrast which I have adjusted but doesnt really improve.
The Sony Instructions are ok, but not brilliant. I have a Sky HD box connected as well as a Phillip DVD recorder and a Pioneer home surround system.
I have connected as follows.
Scart connection from DVD Recorder to AV2 on the LCD
Scart connection from Sky box to AV1 on the LCD
TV fly lead from LCD into DVD recorder.
There are all sorts of other connections on the rear of the Sony including HDi ? I havent used any of these, I wont be adding a playstation or XBox.
I have tried dropping the backlight and sharpness down and turnng off the auto contrast and noise reduction etc, but still not a brilliant picture
If anyone has a Bravia, would you mind posting your settings and hopefully something will work out or any advice on a better set up of different cables etc, much appreciated.

I'm not technically minded, but we have a Sony Bravia and all the cables from dvd player, Sky, etc all go into a Scart socket box that needs switching on and we get the wow factor with our picture.
Not sure why we have all the leads going into this box, I just do as technically minded DS1 tells me to!Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -
My advice would be for you to post your question over at AVForums, in the correct section, you will get a wider audience there.;)0

Hi,
If you have a Sky HD box then it should be connected to your TV with an HDMI cable, NOT Scart. Otherwise you wont get the benefit of your HD service. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
