Send Zable a written complaint (cardscomplaints@zable.co.uk) saying you wish to reject the rate rise, have the card cancelled and repay at the current rate but you are being told in online chat that you cant do this. If they reject this you can go to the Ombudsman and ask for compensation.
  • Thank you just to update I rang and pretty said what you’ve said and it’s now sorted so thank you

Just FYI, you can ask, but shouldn't expect, the Ombudsman to award compensation - that is at their discretion, not something you should expect

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

So Zable is now a closed account but have some how read the interest wrong it’s currently at 36% and they were upping it to 38.9%.

so as mentioned earlier I’m due a payrise hopefully December latest as railway union have excepted the offer of a 2 year deal so will use to pay off the Zable card….. but I’ve just done a check and I’m approved through MBNA credit card for a 6 month cash transfer at 0% with a 4% fee is it worth me even doing that to save on interest from the Zable card until I pay it off with my back pay the fee would be about £50 currently being charged around £40 interest a month just making the minimum payment at the minute.

So I’m hoping I’ve done the right thing so MBNA offered me a dual card balance and money transfer card so I’ve transferred £1,300 to bank fee was £42 so will pay my closed Zable off.

So that’s bye to the 38.9% card however this card reverts to 28% after 3 months 0% with the cash transfer so……will then move the £1,300 to the rbs card which is what I wanted to do in the first place 0% 14 months and 0 fee as Zable don’t except balance transfers phewwww hopefully I’ve done ok there lol
