purchased a laptop from local Curry’s with a special offer of £60 off. A few days in and upon setting it up was discovered to be faulty. Returned to store and upon testing they agreed it was faulty and offered a replacement which I agreed too. Could not give
me a collection date but a random few days was mentioned. 2 weeks in and no computer. I then checked online and the identical model is available for free home delivery next day albeit at full price. If I ordered this would I be able to get a refund of the extra I will have to pay.

This appears to be a bit of a scam or is this a way of making me pay more because I can also get next day delivery from Amazon so it is not likely this dubious tactic would work is it.

I can't see how this is a scam. There's a delay of the replacement for some reason but when it comes you will have a working laptop for the price you paid for a working laptop. It's not good customer service to keep you waiting but then it's Currys.Leavemealone said:purchased a laptop from local Curry’s with a special offer of £60 off. Online inventory is often completely separate from store inventory. If you absolutely need the replacement now then tell them that and see if they'll refund the difference. If they won't then your choice is to wait for the replacement, or get a refund and buy online, accepting it will cost more.0 -
You would need to ask currys if they would be prepared. But I would be asking why you are still waiting.Life in the slow lane0

Thank you for your comments. Went into store today and told by two assistants it had not come in from warehouse. Saw an assistant who I know personally who went to check ‘out back’. Surprise surprise came back out with one under his arm. Can say no more!2
