Want to ask for a friend. If claiming contribution based ESA in the support group and on tax credits. Does that mean will not move to UC?

They will remain on contribution based esa, But will still have to move to universal credit because Tax credits are stopping
The esa will remain in payment bur will be deducted in full from any universal credit payment

If they are now on UC then they must have actively claimed it, no one is moved across automatically. As for being better or worse, they're different benefits with different qualification criteria. If you think some aspects need changing then contact your MP.1
