re-flaunching + roof tiles

Options
Hi all,
I've had a quote for re-flaunching the chimney and replacing 2 slate tiles on the roof - £530. This seems excessive to me but I don't have much experience so not sure.

I had the chimney flaunching done about 3 years ago but it's got cracks in it now. It cost me about £200 at the time, but I guess they didn't do a great job if it's already cracked.

It's a 2 storey house and I'm in the north of England. The roofer came recommended from neighbours.

Would appreciate your thoughts!
thanks

If he is going to do a proper job and provide a guarantee, the price doesn't sound too bad - I assume he is planning on using a ladder (and possibly a small roof tower). Scaffolding would easily add another £800 to the cost, although a cherry picker could be used if ground level access is good.

  • Thanks @FreeBear he didn't mention a guarantee so I'll check that.
