    I was beginning to think they'd run out of food on a particularly tight week and eaten the kitty, no updates or pics or even amusing semi-disaster stories.... he just disappeared and the budget for food didn't go over £50 so how did they feed him?

    You only tell them that when they didn't put the effort in and are wasting their own opportunities... effort gets gentle coercing to go in the right direction, struggling gets extra help/rephrasing - trying another approach, still hungover / too lazy but wasting their ability gets a utter sh1te you can do better.....
