is that not just the basic eye test though? contact lense test will cost about £25 and not sure that it's covered.
I wear both glasses and contacts but can't get the really cheap ones cos I've got astigmatism but asda do good deals if you get the contact lense prescription. (and other places do too - you can order through quidco).
Go for it, it'll give you a wee boost and if you get a bar job you want to be extra gorgeous for the extra tips! (I have no shame!)Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Tax Credit Exemption Certificate
If you receive Working Tax Credit or Child Tax Credit, you (and your family) may be entitled to help with NHS health costs.
If you are entitled to help with health costs via tax credits, the Prescription Pricing Authority on behalf of the Health Departments in the UK will automatically send you a NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate.
If you receive a tax credit, but are not automatically entitled to help with health costs, you will not receive a NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate, and should consider the alternative methods of getting help with health costs.
What the NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate Covers
The certificate entitles you, your partner (if you have one) and any children named on the letter accompanying the certificate to:
free NHS prescriptions
free NHS dental treatment
free NHS sight tests
the full value of a voucher towards the cost of glasses and contact lenses
free NHS wigs and fabric supports
refund of necessary costs of travel to and from hospital for NHS treatment.
You will need to show your NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate each time you get an NHS prescription or other health service. If the children named on the letter are not already exempt (e.g. on age grounds), you will also need to show the letter in addition to your certificate.
