  • Pretty sure if you put in "shared cost avc" into your council's intranet search bar something relevant will come up.

They are shown as a partner on AVC wise so what you find is highly likely to say go to https://www.my-money-matters.co.uk and register (the rest of the info should be in there).
The investment choices will be the ones available here (in the Shropshire County Pension Fund guide) https://pru.co.uk/rz/localgov/avcs/#Investmentchoices

Once you are in the money matters part it'll probably answer a lot of your questions.

Why not get your application in anyway? - the sooner you start, the sooner you begin to add to your pension funds.
You should be able to start with something fairly low for a couple of months (say £100) and then see what happens when it comes out of your pay - you can post the number here and people can explain if you need them to.
Then you can increase the contributions either in one step or a few, till you are at the level you want.
@LHW99 That makes sense to be fair thanks - I must admit I was a bit nervous asking for help on this forum but everyone is very helpful and non judgemental..I wish I could say the same for some other forums. Thanks everyone
  • I was almost certain that money matters DIDNT handle this but if they do fantastic it seems like they do the heavy lifting thanks @Kernowshep
  • Thanks for your help everyone I've filled in a contact form at money matters so I'm sure they will be in contact soon.
