Lintel replacement

I've been told that the upstairs windows can't be replaced until new Lintels have been replaced? Apparently it's a new law and guidelines. The guy was really nice and honest, unfortunately he don't do this line of work, so any advice on cost??? Some one was going to come and give a quote but not turned up. My back window has pebbledash and might not need a lintel. But its the front windows. Thank you fo any help

Depends where you are, but ballpark figure is £5-800 per lintel plus access depending on if the builder uses a tower or needs scaffold erected. Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0
